ZocDoc Patient File: Leigh

Every week we publish an interview with one of our many ZocDoc patients. If you’d like to be one of the patients profiled in this interview, just send us an email at patientfile@zocdoc.com.

somervilleName: Leigh

Age: 28

What do you do? I teach ESL to college students.

How did you find out about ZocDoc? Through a very clever friend!

How was your experience? Fantastic! Being able to learn about a doctor and make an appointment at the same time is really convenient. I also loved that they sent me a text message with the address and phone number on the day of the appointment.

What’s the longest you’ve waited in a doctor’s waiting room? I remember waiting hours for allergy shots as a child. It was awful! One can only read Highlights for Children for so long…

What do you think is the secret to a long (and happy) life? Friends & family of course. And having furry animals as pets. And possibly chocolate.

Do you remember how you lost your first tooth? I don’t remember how it happened, but I do remember being  severely disappointed that the money I received was not scattered with fairy dust.

Do you have any interesting scars? How did you get them? I am the clumsiest person I know, so yes I have quite a few. The best one is probably on my head. There was an unfortunate incident at a sleepover in third grade where my head collided with the corner of a coffee table. Sleeping on couches was never the same again.

What do you do to stay healthy? I try to go to the gym but I still view the elliptical machine as some sort of medieval torture device. I’m working on it. Sigh.

What’s your favorite healthy food? Quinoa. It’s a carb, and it’s filled with vitamins and minerals!

Did you ever fake being sick as a child? Yes! I even tried putting the thermometer on the radiator once. Sadly, my parents figured out my temperature was not 106.4.

Would you make it through medical school? Eeeep. Blood! Hospitals! Wait, I have to sit down I’m feeling faint.
