ZocDoc Patient File: Kevin
Here at ZocDoc, we like to think that our site is designed with one person in mind: you, the patient! So naturally, it’s about time we got to know you a little better.
Starting today, every week we’re going to be publishing an interview with one of our many ZocDoc patients. If you’d like to be one of the patients profiled in this interview, just send us an email at patientfile@zocdoc.com.

Name:
Kevin
Age: 28
What do you do? I work in sales and marketing for Broadway shows. It’s OK; it pays the bills… mostly.
How did you find out about ZocDoc? I heard about it through word of mouth from a friend. He told me what a great service it was, and after some initial skepticism I gave it a try.
How was your experience? Loved it! The layout was super easy to navigate, and being able to see individual doctor profiles was completely helpful. Being able to sort by insurance provider is hugely convenient, and the site runs so much faster than my insurance company’s database.
What’s the longest you’ve waited in a doctor’s waiting room? Ever? Oh God. It must have been over 90 minutes. I was starved for reading material towards the end. I think I went through every TIME magazine in their office, and I’d even moved on to Field & Stream. I felt a little like Jack Nicholson in “The Shining.” My sanity was definitely waning.
What do you do to stay healthy? It’s a constant struggle, because let’s just say that “healthy” isn’t my default setting. I try to make it to the gym two or three times a week, for cardio and whatnot. Living in New York and walking everywhere is also a big plus. I’ve been trying to get someone to take ballroom dancing classes with me for years, so when that happens I’ll let you know.
Do you have any interesting scars? I have a scar on my arm that I tell everyone is from a pirate battle, but it’s actually from me running into a wall.
What’s your favorite healthy food? Avocado. I put it on everything. It’s fatty, but it’s full of those good fats, like in salmon. Delicious.
What food is your guilty pleasure? Oh good Lord, where to begin. I have the great misfortune of living basically next-door to a nationally-regarded red velvet cake bakery. So that’s a daily test of will right there.
Would you make it through medical school? Totally! Until I had to see blood or do math. Then it would go downhill pretty quickly.
