Today is World AIDS Day
Here are 5 things you can do to fight HIV/AIDS:
1. Connect. Read the blog, listen to the podcasts, watch the videos, and join the community. See what the government is doing to combat HIV/AIDS at home and abroad, and how you can help.
2. Find a charity you can support. This directory even breaks down charities by state!
3. Find a hospice where you can volunteer your time.
4. Stay educated. Did you know that in 2007, the largest group of people newly diagnosed with HIV/AIDS was between 40-49 years old?
5. Get tested, and bring your friends. Find a testing site through the CDC, or find a doctor right now on ZocDoc.
Obviously, AIDS is bigger than a day. It’s bigger than a ribbon, and it’s bigger than a blog. But AIDS isn’t bigger than us. If you do anything today, remember that we can beat this killer if we work together.
